Misconduct: NURTW suspends MC Oluomo indefinitely

Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, has been suspended indefinitely as the Lagos chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). MC Oluomo is accused of insubordination and misconduct bordering on inciting members of the union against the national body.  The decision was taken after a query was sent to MC Oluomo over alleged meddlesomenes in Union matters, as well as a protest staged by his supporters during which they accused the union at national level of unnecessarily interfering in the state affairs. In a letter signed by the general secretary of the NURTW, Kabiru Yau, the NURTW boss was accused of incitement to violence and planning attacks on branches that refuse to obey his order of not accepting directives from the national headquarters of the union.  The national body of the union directed MC Oluomo to immediately hand over the mantle of leadership to his deputy chairman and release all property belonging

Mo Salah rendered toothless as Nigeria produce master class performance to beat Egypt 1-0 in first game of AFCON 2021 (Video)

The Super Eagles of Nigeria recorded a 1-0 win over the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday night, January 11. Egypt went into their first Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) match with high hopes, possessing in-form Liverpool striker Mo Salah, but the mercurial forward was clinically cut off for long spells in the game as a tactical Kelechi Iheanacho strike put Nigeria ahead on the 30 minutes mark. For the first 20 mins it looked like Egypt controlled possession but Nigeria’s goal put the Pharaohs off balance and the Joe Aribo – Wilfred Ndidi combination stifled the Egyptians from making progressive runs into Nigeria’s defence. Awoniyi nearly scored Super Eagles’ second goal in the 37th and 41st minutes but was stopped by Egypt’s goalkeeper, El Shenawy. This goal spurred Nigeria and a clumsy touch from Iheanacho made him to spurn a chance to double his tally. Egypt had one chance in the

Billionaire Investor Bill Miller now has 50% of his personal wealth in Bitcoin

American billionaire investor, Bill Miller has revealed that half of his personal net worth is now invested in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, going against his own known advice that investors should allocate just 1%-2% of their portfolios to digital assets. In a nearly hour-long interview with WealthTrack, the 72-year-old said he first bought bitcoin in 2014 when it was trading around $200. He kept purchasing more and stopped when it rose to roughly $500. Then he started buying bitcoin again in the spring of 2021 when the coin was hovering around $30,000-level, just after it crashed from its then all-time-high of roughly $66,000. Miller, who now calls himself a bitcoin bull instead of a bitcoin observer, told WealthTrack he has been adding to various bitcoin-related investments since then, citing MicroStrategy as one of them. “My reasoning was there are a lot more people using it now. There’s a lot more money going into it

The club have been looking to send the French defender out after his struggles for fitness and form in recent months, but could not finalize an exit for him in the summer. With the club still in a difficult situation financially, Barcelona have now reached the point where they could simply terminate Umtiti’s deal at the Nou Camp after negotiations to cut his pay went nowhere, as reported by Spanish outlet Sport. Club chiefs are ‘studying their options’ because they ‘suffer the consequences of a very high salary and zero performance’ on the pitch, the report adds, having failed to play a minute of action this season. He was frozen out by previous boss Ronald Koeman and new coach Xavi Hernandez does not have him in his plans with
